12x12 Art Fundraiser |

Today we feature an interview with one of our 12×12 Art Fundraiser featured artists, Sue Moss Sullivan of Oklahoma City.

What inspires you to create art?
When I see an interesting shape, color, movement or material, I’m often driven to interpret those things to reflect how I feel about them.  Since I work in fiber and mixed media, I might use traditional weaving, braiding, coiling, etc., to express my ideas. My challenge is to use fiber in unexpected ways.

How do you know when a piece is finished?
When I’m confident it is technically complete and it speaks to me.

What do you hope viewers take away from your works?
I hope they are first intrigued that fiber can be used to interpret ideas in unexpected ways.  Then I hope they feel free to decide  for themselves what they take away from my work.

Where else can viewers see your work?
On the OVAC Artist Gallery, or at Studio Six, 3021 Paseo, Oklahoma City.
