Originally from the east coast, Lauren aka Velveteen has been in Oklahoma for over a decade. They have held many roles of community member, kitchen person, librarian, and artist over the years.

Brief Artist Statement

My work is heavily inspired by identity performance, memory, place, and transition. I work primarily with painting and ceramics to experiment with size, scale, medium, gravity, and time. Each of these elements adds to the narrative of each piece.
