MOMENTUM 2027 Committee Guidelines

As a volunteer Committee Member, you will play an essential role in carrying MOMENTUM’s legacy forward by creating a dynamic and inspiring experience for artists and audiences alike, while engaging in professional development experiences to advance your own career goals.

Here’s what you can expect to contribute and learn by serving on the committee:

● Participate in person at least 3 out of 4 committee meetings.

● Attend Committee Work Night and volunteer for a minimum of one other volunteer shift.

● Serve on a sub-committee that aligns with your talents and interests.

● Gain hands-on experience in event planning, marketing, hosting exhibitions, and more.

● Practice identifying potential new sponsors and make at least 5 asks to donate.

● Build community connections by reaching out to at least 3 businesses to donate auction items.

● Engage in storytelling by sharing social media posts and creating behind-the-scenes content.

● Enjoy networking opportunities with fellow professionals in the arts and cultural sector.

● Serve as an ambassador by ensuring a positive and engaging experience for attendees.

● Assist with outreach events and delivering postcards and posters at businesses

Fundraising Sub-Committee

Plays a vital role in securing sponsorships and raising funds that contribute to the financial success of MOMENTUM by helping to…

● Research and identify potential monetary sponsors aligned with OVAC’s mission and values.

● Reach out to businesses, organizations, and individuals to secure financial support and in-kind contributions, such as videography and photobooth services.

● Solicit items for the silent auction and bundle and assemble them into baskets.

Marketing Sub-Committee

Plays a crucial role in developing and executing marketing strategies to ensure the success of MOMENTUM by helping to…

● Identify and engage with relevant communities, organizations, and influencers to expand the program’s reach.

● Foster partnerships and collaborations to enhance promotional efforts.

● Assist with creating visual content, including graphics, video, and print signage.

● Strategize marketing campaign schedules to keep our audience excited and informed about the program.

● Write copy for various communication needs like ticketing, social posts, and emails.

● Work as a street team to deliver postcards and posters at businesses across the state.

● Assist with PR/Media outreach needs like coordinating interviews, press guests, and connecting artists to PR/Media opportunities

Production Sub-Committee

● Participate in exhibition setup and breakdown, including arranging artwork, signage, and any interactive displays.

● Ensure the overall aesthetics and event design align with the artistic vision of the exhibition.

● Be familiar with emergency procedures and assist in ensuring the safety of attendees in case of unforeseen events.

● Assist with volunteer communications and coordination.

● Assist with vendor coordination as needed.

● Assist with Insider Event
