This February, 1515 Lincoln Gallery presents Found Treasures: Visionaries and Hidden Gems an exhibition showcasing artwork from the gallery's

Found Art Collection. The exhibition includes pieces by renowned visionaries such as Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, William Hogarth, and others, alongside works by lesser-known artists from the gallery collection. The Found Art Collection at 1515 Lincoln Gallery comprises over 300 works, alongside hundreds of pieces by more than 50 contemporary artists represented by the gallery, both locally and internationally. When the opportunity arose to collaborate on an exhibition with curator Elizabeth Wylie, the gallery offered her full access to its collection, from which a compelling theme emerged. Elizabeth Wylie is an art historian and museum professional with over 25 years of experience as a curator, director, and instructor of museum studies. Reflecting on her curatorial process, Wylie shared, “We were looking to bring together a diverse array of artists and styles to show how art of wildly different styles (e.g., representational or abstract) and subject matter (e.g., landscapes or figures) can coexist and speak to one another.” She added, “Prints can be a very accessible entry into art collecting. There are a number of prints by artists ranging from Dürer in the Renaissance and Hogarth in the 18th century to 20th-century artists such as Miró and Picasso that would be lovely to have.”

This exhibition promises to inspire with its dynamic range of styles and subject matter, blending the familiar with the unexpected. Visitors can experience works by celebrated artists while discovering hidden gems from lesser-known creators. The diversity of themes and timelines in the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore varied artistic expressions across history and geography. Found Treasures: Visionaries and Hidden Gems opens with a public reception on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm at 1515 Lincoln Gallery. Admission to the reception and the exhibition is free. The show will remain on view through Saturday, March 16, 2025.
