Painting Flowers Using the Power of Abstraction

When: Saturday, September 13th

Time: 9-4 (lunch 12-1)

Cost: $200

Prerequisites:

Some experience using oil paints is recommended

Promotion:

Each participant will receive a bouquet to take home after completing their painting.

Description:

In this flower painting workshop, participants will learn to “abstract” what they see by simplifying shapes and practice seeing in terms of mass, not detail. The workshop includes discussions on color and materials, practicing the use of notan (light and dark) to simplify shapes, instructor demonstrations, and ample time to create beautiful flower arrangements. Note: All paintings will be done from life, and each participant will be provided with their own bouquet to paint.
