The Howell Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings by Dennis R. Johnson, opening with an artist reception on Thursday, April 9th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at BancFirst Tower Gallery, 100 North Broadway Avenue, Underground.

Johnson has painted for over forty years, building a body of work that moves fluidly between abstraction and photorealism. His abstract paintings bring an unexpected sense of control, order, and realism — qualities he deliberately introduces to challenge assumptions about what abstract work can be. "My paintings are like inventions," Johnson says. "I love discovering new territory."
